Comparing the efficacy of some commonly insecticide with formulation in Iran and some other countries on important cotton pests in Golestan province.

The major insect pests of cotton in Golestan province are bollworm, aphid and white flies and a huge amount of insecticides are used to control them which increases the cost of production and environmental pollution. In 2002- 2003 some experiments were carried out in Golestan province to compare the efficacy of the insecticides which formulated inside the country with those imported from abroad in controling mentioned pests. For bollworm control the treatments were as follow: avant, carbaril(from France and China),larvin co.), endosulphan(chimi-keshavarz.and golsam co.) carbaril (golsam co.) and check. (giah-ban For aphid the treatments were as follow: metasystox (Germany ), confidor(bayer co.) pymetrozine (novartis co.), novacron and dimicron(chimi-keshavarz co.) confidor( co.),pymetrozin(moshkfam co.) and check . For white fly control the treatment giah-ban were as follow : admiral(Japan), aktylic(England), amitraz(chimi-keshvarz co.) danitol(giah-ban co.) and check . The experiments were arranged as randomized compelet block design with four replications and recommended dose of the insecticides were used . Samplings were done one day before and 1,3 , 5 , 10 , 15 and 20 days after spraying.The results indicated there were significant differences among treatments(P0.05) .For bollworm control carbaryl (China) and avant (France) had higher efficacy ( 78 % and 85 %) than internal formulated and stand in group. For aphid control confidor and pymetrozin(Germany) had higher efficacy( 97 % and 98 %)than internal formulated and stand in group and finally for whitfly control admiral had higher efficacy( 96 %) than internal formulated and stand in group (P0.05). It is recommended in addition to physico- chemical test of the insecticide a field test is necessary to determine the quality of insecticides.
