This study was conducted in 2002 to 2003 to determine the damage caused by cercospora leaf spot (cercospora beticola) in 8 lines of sugar beet at the safiabad agriculture research center of Dezful,Iran. The experiment of design was a split plot arranged in a randomized complet block design .main plots were fungicide treatments consisting application of Mancozeb at three stages and untreated check, and sub plot s consisted 8 sugar beet lines and cultivares.Compared to the untreated check, application of Mancozeb increased sugar beet root yield by 5.2% and cultivar hm 1836 and lin 236 with 95.14 and 46.27 t/ha had the highest and lowest sugar beet root yield, respectively.untreated check and threated plot ,had 16.1 and 15.22 percent sucrose content respectively . application of fungicide increased white sugar content by 6.4% . cultivar hm 1836 and lin 236 with 14.6 and 5.92 t/ha had the highest and lowest white sugar yield ,respectively.cercospora leaf spot has decreased white sugar content at 0.6 % t/ha . genotypes of hm 1990 , 191 , 261 , kahriz78 ,7112 , 7617 and 236 had sugar yield decrease of 11.71 10.1 , 9.2 ,7.1, 4.6 ,4.44 ,1.81 and 0.05 respectively .compared to the untreated check and application of fungicide had decrease level of disease infection by 2 % .
