Английский. The sudden death of growing/finishing pig is a problem that hits the breeding without warning. It is an unexpected event, not preceded by prodromic signs, and it arouses worry and disorientation in breeders. The organs and apparatuses contained in the abdominal cavity represent, in the majority of the cases, the key of interpretation of the phenomenon. In particular, the torsions and the dystopia of the abdominal organs or the hemorrhagic syndromes of the GI apparatus are the ones that mainly are cause of death. In this context, the necroscopic features play, therefore, a remarkable role, above all in terms of differential diagnosis, and represent an useful tool for swine practitioner to assess the cause of death

I quadri lesivi della cavità splancnica addominale rappresentano, nella maggioranza dei casi, la chiave interpretativa del fenomeno; le torsioni, le distopie di organi addominali, le fenomenologie emorragiche del tubo gastro-enterico sono le principali cause di morte. In questo contesto, i riscontri anatomo-patologici rappresentano un notevole rilievo lesivo oggettivo, soprattutto in termini di diagnosi differenziale, e consentono al medico veterinario di discriminare e interpretare la fenomenologia acuta, causa del decesso
