In the last few years the pressing request of the veterinary world led to the development of different PCR methods that are usually reliable, but difficult to be compared since they aren't standardized and validated. The purpose of this project (INTERPCR) is to compare, develop, standardize and recommend methods for the diagnosis of different farm animal diseases that could be easily applied in diagnostic laboratories. The comparison of different PCR methods towards the examination of homogenized tissues and nucleic acids allowed us to select different protocols (extractions and PCR methods) that, opportunely standardized, can represent simple, cheap and sensitive methods for the diagnosis of several major bovine and swine diseases. [Negli ultimi anni le richieste del mondo veterinario hanno portato allo sviluppo di metodi PCR diversi, di norma affidabili, ma che forniscono risultati non sempre confrontabili, dato che non sono standardizzati e validati. Lo scopo di questo progetto (INTERPCR) consiste nel confrontare, sviluppare, standardizzare e raccomandare metodi per la diagnosi di malattie diverse degli animali in produzione zootecnica che possano essere facilmente applicati in laboratori diagnostici. Il confronto di metodi PCR diversi relativamente alle matrici istologiche utilizzate e agli acidi nucleici ci ha consentito di selezionare diversi protocolli (estrazioni e metodi PCR) che, opportunamente standardizzati, possono rappresentare metodi semplici, a basso costo e sensibili per la diagnosi di numerose importanti malattie dei bovini e dei suini. Questo contributo presenta i risultati ottenuti con metodi PCR diversi per l'identificazione del virus della malattia di Aujeszky.]
