Comparison between performance parameters of tractors fuelled with B30 (30% biodiesel, 70% diesel) and fossile diesel [Emilia-Romagna]

In the framework of program PROBIO for the Emilia Romagna region, some tractors (John Deere 8410T and New Holland M160) were tested using B30 fuel (30% biodiesel, 70% diesel) in comparison with fossil diesel. Tests were carried out over a long term utilization in field with the aim to assess performances such as maximum power and power at rated engine speed, torque and specific consumption. Results show that power and torque vary in a range of +-2.5%, while specific consumption tends to increase in a range of 1% to 5%. Smoke opacity decreases drastically, from 29% to 40%.

[Nell'ambito del progetto PROBIO per la Regione Emilia-Romagna, sono state provate alcune trattrici (John Deere 8410T e New Holland M160) utilizzando una miscela di biodiesel 30% e gasolio 70% (B30) in confronto con normale gasolio agricolo. Sono state condotte prove di utilizzazione di lungo periodo in campo, allo scopo di accertare prestazioni come la potenza massima e la potenza nominale, la coppia e il consumo specifico. I risultati mostrano che la potenza e la coppia variano in un intervallo di +-2,5%, mentre il consumo specifico tende ad aumentare dall'1% al 5%. La fumosità dei gas di scarico diminuisce inoltre notevolmente, dal 29% al 40%.]
