Further investigations on cherry orchard mineral removals [Prunus avium L.; Apulia]

In the province of Bari, during the period 2002-2003, on 16 year old trees of 5 sweet cherry cultivars for cannery (Colafemmina, Denisenova, Droganova, Montagnola and Stark Glorious Gold) and 3 for fresh market (Bigarreau Moreau, Ferrovia and Stella), the dry mass of fruits, leaves, pruning material and the relative content of macronutrients and Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn and B was determined in 3 representative plants for each cultivar. The amounts that the sweet cherry orchard annually extracts from soil vary greatly, depending on the cultivar and the element taken into account. In particular, the annual Fe removals per hectare vary between 714 and 1,593 g, while manganese between 179 and 522 g. Copper removals are little higher, i.e. between 95 and 661 g/ha/yr. Zinc removals vary a lot, from 88 to 245 g/ha/yr. Finally, boron removals per year fall within a minimum of 125 and a maximum of 392 g/ha. The statistic analysis shows a remarkable importance of the organ-effect only for manganese, zinc and boron. On the other hand, the differences found among the cultivars for the five considered microelements are not statistically significant

Nel biennio 2002-2003 sono state svolte indagini su 3 piante rappresentative di 5 cultivar di ciliegio dolce da industria (Colafemmina, Denisenova, Droganova, Montagnola e Stark Glorious Gold) e di 3 da mensa (Bigarreau Moreau, Ferrovia e Stella), allevate in provincia di Bari e di 16 anni di età. Per ciascuna di esse sono stati determinati la massa secca di frutti, foglie e materiale di risulta della potatura e i relativi contenuti di macroelementi e di ferro, manganese, zinco, rame e boro. I risultati evidenziano come le quantità asportate annualmente siano piuttosto variabili in funzione dell'annata e della cultivar. In particolare, le asportazioni di Fe per ettaro variano fra 714 e 1.593 g, mentre quelle di Mn oscillano fra 179 e 522 g. Le asportazioni di Cu sono leggermente più alte, cioè fra 95 e 661 g/ha/anno. Quelle di Zn variano notevolmente, da 88 a 245 g/ha/anno. Infine, le asportazioni di B per anno si situano fra un minimo di 125 e un massimo di 392 g/ha. L'analisi statistica evidenzia la notevole importanza dell'effetto-organo solo per Mn, Zn e B. D'altro lato, le differenze relative ai cinque microelementi considerati riscontrate fra le cultivar non risultano statisticamente significative
