Suppressive effects of composted olive pomace, neem oil or seed meal, rue extract and pyrethrum on the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita were tested in pot and field experiments, respectively on tomato and melon. Nematode population was significantly suppressed only by compost and neem and rue treatments in pot and by all treatments in field. In this trial, also melon crop yield was significantly increased. No synergy effect derived by the combination of compost with neem, rue and pyrethrum formulations

L'azione soppressiva sul nematode galligeno Meloidogyne incognita di trattamenti al terreno con un compost da sansa d'oliva e con differenti formulati di neem, ruta e piretro, da soli e combinati, è stata esaminata in vaso e in pieno campo, rispettivamente su pomodoro e melone. La densità di popolazione finale del nematode è stata significativamente ridotta dal compost e dai trattamenti con neem o ruta ad esso combinati nella prova in vaso e da tutti i trattamenti in quella in pieno campo. In quest'ultima prova tutti i trattamenti hanno inoltre indotto un significativo incremento della produzione di melone. L'integrazione del compost con le sostanze naturali non ha però prodotto alcun effetto sinergico
