'Yume Sizuku' : A new peach cultivar [Prunus persica]

1. 'Yume Sizuku' is a new peach cultivar released by the Yamanashi Fruit Tree Experiment Station. Regarding the 'Yume Sizuku', the fruit is large. It is a kind with a high sugar content, which can be harvested in the middle of July and is easy to grow. It is expected to contribute to the Yamanashi peach industry. 2.'Yume Sizuku' originated from a cross of 'Chiyohime' x 'Yahata hakuhou' made in 1990. The original plant was tested as 'Momo Yamanashi 9'. 'Yume Sizuku' was applied for the Seeds and Seedlings Law in 2001. It was registered with the Seeds and Seedlings Law in March, 2004. The origin of the name 'Yume Sizuku' is 'a peach like the fresh dream'. 3. The tree of 'Yume Sizuku' variety is moderately vigorous. Flowering time is early, 2days before 'Hakuhou'. It doesn't have pollen. Harvest time is 92 days after full bloom, namely 10days before 'Hakuhou'. 4. The fruit is oblate in shape and large in size averaging 300g. The skin color is red and the flesh is white with a little red pigment. The sugar content is high, about 13% in the refractometer index. The acidity is slightly high, about pH4.9. 'Yume Sizuku' has an excellent quality and the outward appearance and the easy growing nature makes it an excellent variety.
