Yield traits for 61 Japanese inbred-lines was investigated, it was observed big variation in each yield traits. Then, the relation of Fsub(1) lines among its middle parents and better parents was investigated in each traits, the effect of heterosis was obviously admitted in root weight and sugar yield. The size of MP heterosis expected in the amount of the root weight and sugar yield were about 0.8+-0.2 in the hybridization combination of Fsub(1) compared with its mid-parent. Moreover, it has been understood a value close to the mid-parents is indicated in the sugar content, Na, and K. In these characters, the value of Fsub(1) could be roughly predictable from parental values. On the other hand, the inheritance of alpha-N was not clearly. To clarify the relation of yield traits and ancestor variety for the inbred-1ines, the principal component analysis was done with 5 variable components such as root weight sugar content, Na, K and alpha-N. As a result, it has been understood that the influence of the ancestor variety was large to the yield traits. Especially, there were a lot of lines that originate in 'TA15' and 'TA30', it is important to the promotion of high sugar and a high-quality line. It is because that to make high sugar content and the high quality by using the lines originates such ancestor pedigree. However, it causes in the genealogy of small number of ancestor variety. Sarcastically, it caused contradiction between effective use of heterosis and high sugar and a high-quality breeding depending these lines.
