An investigation was made about the influence of mild winter on the fruiting of Lentinula edodes in the bed log cultivation, and about the method to improve the yield. Insufficient yield of L. edodes was caused by the fact that the first peak of fruiting became lower and second peak disappeared by the influence of mild winter. Experiments were made to increase the amount of fruiting by cutting off water in winter period. As a result, we could clarify that cutting off water in January was effective in one of representative atrains, we could also clarify that there were several strains which could keep enough yield in mild winter condition.
