This study was conducted to investigate the response of watering to sap flow transport, leaf relative water content, and photosynthetic rate of garlic during vegetative and bulb development stages under water-stressed conditions. The cloves were planted on the polyethylene film-mulched plots at a planting density of 18×11 cm in a greenhouse in September 2002 and harvested in May 2003. The irrigation levels during the experimental period were 0 (no irrigation), 10, 20, and 30 mm.
