The drying process of foam gypsum both theoretically and experimentally has been investigated. Theoretical research of the electric field distribution in the sample of foam gypsum by the use of method of conformable descriptions has been carried out. According to the investigation moisture diffusion is dependent on such factors as the density of sample material, its porosity, and the size of pores and other. The moisture level in a sample depends on the time of drying and thickness of the sample. As the specific electric resistance of foam gypsum is dependent on its content of moisture, to state the content of moisture in a sample is possible by measuring the electric field between two electrodes placed into the sample. For the investigation electrodes of cylindrical, plane and planar shape have been looked at.
