In 2007 in Latvia average crop yield was 4.12 t/ha (Vidzeme region) till 5.22 t/ha (Zemgale region) in winter wheat sowings. But, evaluate quality indicators of grain samples; we can conclude that the highest quality grains had been obtained on farms of Zemgale region. Average gluten content was 24.9%. Rates of nitrogen application into soil were accordingly – 50.9 kg/ha in Latgale region, 74.4 kg/ha in Vidzeme region, 109. 8 kg/ha in Kurzeme region, and 134.4 kg/ha in Zemgale region.
