Arenga ambong Becc., one of three Philippine species in the genus Arenga Labillardiere (Arecaceae/Palmae) is currently classified as a widespread Philippine endemic with an immediately endangered conservation status. Information on its taxonomy, present distribution range, ecology, population size, reproductive behavior, phenology and economic importance are also provided.
