Production of High Value Commercial Crops (HVCC) such as honeydew, cherry tomato and cucumber inside the greenhouse are profitable ventures in both seasons (wet and dry season). In 2001-2004 these crops performed well in terms of its productivity and quality that were acceptable to high end markets (supermarkets, restaurants, airlines and hotels). The price of cherry tomato, honey dew produced better prices per kilo during wet season while the price per kilo of cucumber was stable in both dry and wet season. For pests and diseases, white flies were the most damaging insect inside the greenhouse. Also fruit flies were observed and controlled through the use of male fruit flies attractant. The occurrence of bacterial wilt was minimized by disinfecting the greenhouse prior to next planting. Furthermore, one of the major activities of the HVCC project was information dissemination nationwide to various clienteles through lectures, seminars, radio broadcast, television interviews, and field tours/visits. A total of 15,156 from different provinces in the country composed of farmers, LGUs [local government units], agricultural technicians private entrepreneurs, students, and foreign visitors from year 2001 to 2004 were received by the Center.
