The goal of this study was evaluation of the response of an edible form of pea (Piast) and a fodder one (Dawo) on increasing (7-12 years) monoculture in conditions of differentiated level of pea protection (herbicide, fungicide) in reference to crop rotation. In the field experiment the crop rotation ensured a high and stable yield of sowing pea seeds (3.32 t/ha), while the monoculture cultivation led to a serious yield reduction (by 71.8 percent). The consequence of pea cultivation in monoculture was a reduction of the number of plants by 14 percent, a decrease in the number of pods by 48 percent, seeds from a plant by 59 percent and a smaller mass of a thousand seeds by 26 percent
