Based on COBOR experiments from th years 1981-1996, the dependence of winter triticale yielding on rye and wheat soils in the northern part of Poland was determined on the sum and distribution of rainfall in the following growth periods: the spring beginning of vegetation - shooting, shooting - dough maturity and in the entire summer vegetation. The results came from 13 stations, the total number of data being 1039. The data were processed using the square correlation and regression analysis. The highest yields of winter triticale on wheat complexes, ca. 7.5 t/ha, were obtained when rainfall ranged between 180-225 mm, the number of days with rainfall less or equal 5 mm exceeded 50 days and the total number of days with rainfall was over 60 days. Respective figures for rye complexes (yield 6 t/ha) were: 150-200 mm, 60 days and more than 60 days
