Evaluation of selected elements of soil fertility and quality of shallow groundwater on the background of crop production intesity in the regional frame

The analysis showed that the regions of Poland varied as regards to crop production intensity as well as soil fertility and water quality. It was found that a negative effect of crop production on water quality is not significant at the present input level. There might be a threat to water quality only within the voivodeships of a relatively low crop production potential and high fertilizer rates i.e. Warminsko-Mazurskie, Wielkopolskie and Zachodnio-Pomorskie. The analysis proved that the threats to soil fertility in Poland are caused by the lack, not be the excess of elements
