Agricultural applications of electromagnetic energy to disinfection of the cereal grain and in this way for protecting its good quality during storage

The traditional methods of stored-grain treatments are time-consuming and not always effective. An alternative for conventional treatment methods could be using as an antiseptic agent of various forms of electromagnetic energy obtained as a result of conversion of electric energy. The paper includes brief review of potential agricultural applications for electromagnetic energy to disinfection of the cereal grain. Effective results may be obtained, for example, by using radiation, microwave energy, cold plasma energy and low energy electrons application. However the broad dissemination of usage of those new technologies still requires to take up more investigation for recognizing of mechanisms of influence on the electromagnetic energy on the microorganisms as well as on the cereal grain itself
