The amount of iron in new born piglet organism is to small to recover it's requirement during first three weeks of life. Supply of this element into organism, during this period, significantly increases the hemoglobin content in erythrocytes and it prevents anemia. Iron can be applicated per os or parenteraly. Parenteral application is dangerous because it can cause an excessive cumulation of iron in organism. Hypersiderosis provokes the increase of number of cases of pathological states in examined animals. The aim of conducted experiment was comparison of prophylactic value of FERR-UP preparation in piglets, basin on hematological studies. Comparison was made on a base of hematological studies and determination of Fe and TIBC levels in piglet blood serum in the 1., 14. and 21. day of life. The best results were obtained in piglets, which were getting parenteraly antianemic agent with simultaneously applicated per os probiotic (group D2). The following changes were observed: the highest number of erythrocytes, the lowest number of leucocytes and also medium values of hematocrite, hemoglobin and the rest of red blood cell parameters
