Pre-milking cow udder disinfection is one of the significant measures for control of mastitis pathogens spreading in heard and hygienic quality of milk as well. In this paper, results of different pre-milking procedures are showed by comparison of colony forming units (CFU) number on udder skin after adequate hygienic procedures. Examination is conveyed on total 45 cows in milking parlot, divided in 3 groups with 15 cows. In the first group of cows, whole udder was sprayed by water before milking, wiped by collective cloth and papillae are wiped by separate paper towels; in the second group, dry wash of papillae by Oxy-foam and wiping by separate paper towels were applied; in the third group, whole udder was firstly sprayed by water, wiped by collective cloth and then papillae were treated by Oxy-foam and wiped by separate paper towels. Number of colony forming units was examined by method of press on agar (Urispect tubes). Results show the greatest reduction of CFU number in the third group, which is in accordance with recommended procedure of dry wash appliance in bad hygienic conditions in examined farm.
