The most significant parasitic and saprophytic fungi in the forests of the National Park Tara [Serbia]

Several parasitic and saprophytic fungi were identified during the study of the parasitic and saprophytic fungi in the forests of the National Park Tara (Serbia). In the nurseries, the damage is most frequently caused by Fusarium and Lophodermium species. In Austrian pine plantations, the most significant are: Mycosphaerella pini (n.f. Dothistroma septospora), Cenangium ferruginosum and Sphaeropsis sapinea, and in Scots pine plantations: Lophodermium seditiosum, Cenangium ferruginosum and Phacidium infestans. In Serbian spruce plantations and natural stands, there are 15 identified species of fungi, among which the greatest damage is caused by Armillaria ostoyae. 13 species of fungi were identified in natural stands of fir. 14 species of parasitic fungi were identified in spruce natural stands. In beech stands there are 80 species of identified parasitic ans saprophytic fungi. Tree dying was observed in sessile oak stands, and among harmful factors leading to tree dying, special place is assigned to Ophiostoma species. The area of the National Park Tara is rich in mushrooms.
