The comparative study of antioxidant activity of phytopreparations containing flavonoides and phenylpropanoids was carried out. It was done on the model of toxic hepatitis, caused by perchloromethane (CCl4 ) in the tissue of rats liver. Fluid extract from rhizomes (FER) of Rhaponticum carthamoides (Willd.) Iljin, dried extract from rhizomes (DER) of Rhodiola rosea L., fluid extract from fruits (FEF) of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn., CO2-extract from seeds (CES) of Schisandra chinensis Bail., juice (JC) of S.chinensis and also plant compounds, namely rosavin (RS), silybin (SL) and quercetin (QT), were investigated. Rutin and dihydroquercetin ( or taxifolin, DQ) were used as preparations of comparison. The influence on the level of malonyl dialdehyde (MDA), the final product of lipid peroxidation, was caused in the greatest degree by rutin (content of MDA was reduced on 25% in comparison of control). It is concluded that antioxidant activity of compounds reduces in the range of DQ, SL, RS, QT. DER of R. rosea has the greatest ability to depress the lipid peroxidation among phytopharmaceuticals (content of MDA was reduced on 30.5% in comparison of control). The activity of superoxiddismutase increases in the greatest degree by the influence of QT (13%). The influence of the other compounds reduces in the range of SL, DQ, rutin, RS. The activity of superoxiddismutase is increased by the influence of DER of R. rosea (58.5%). The activity of gluta-thionperoxidase is reconstructed in the greatest degree by the influence of QT. The antioxidant activity reduces in the range of SL, RS, DQ, rutin. Among phytopreparations, JU of S. chinensis increases the activity of the glutathionperoxidase in more than 2 times. The influence of the other preparations is reduced in the range of DER of R. rosea, FER of R. carthamoides, CES of S. chinensis, FEF of S. marianum. The activity of catalase is increased by the influence of DER of R. rosea (in more than 3 times), QT (in more than 2 times), and FER of R. carthamoides, CES of S. chinensis, JU of S. chinensis (more than 40%).
