Advantages of natural gas usages in drying processes

The advantages of natural gas usage in the drying processes of maize, barley, wheat and other cereal products are analysed in this paper. The information on natural gas and oil consumption was gained from the following drying systems: the manufacturer CER -type: DVSK-MD and the manufacturer POBEDA - type: DVSZ, which were installed at the factory Jedinstvo in the town of Apatin, Serbia. This paper illustrates advantages of natural gas usage in the grain drying processes, particularly the achievement of significant energy saving. Also, natural gas usage in drying processes improves the heating process and also reduces emissions of exhaust gases (NOx, CO2,..). These significant facts on natural gas make it an appropriate and recommendable source of energy in grain drying processes.
