The research of oak (Quercus spp.) carpophages was realized in Botanical Garden of P. J. Šafárik University in Košice in 1995 to 2005. Durmast oak (Quercus petraea /MATTUSCH./LIEBL., English oak (Quercus robur L), Turkey oak (Quercus cerris L.) and Quercus libani OLIV. were analysed. Red oak (Quercus rubra L.) was analysed from locality Jasov (quadrat number DFS 7391, Grid reference number of the Databank of the fauna of Slovakia) owing to infertility of Red oak in Botanical Garden for its low age. There were found these insects pests: Andricus caputcalicis BUGSD., Curculio glandium, Callirhytis glandium GIR., Cydia splendana HB. and Andricus caputmedusae BURGSD. The largest acorn damage were detected for Durmast oak, with 75.2% average range of damage, following 59.6 % (English oak), 50.7% (Quercus libani) and 26.4% (Turkey oak) average range of damage. The acorns of Red oak (Quercus rubra) were damaged only slightly (0.6 %). Also gall-wasps Andricus caputcalicis and Callirhytis glandium caused high portion of acorns damage. The gall-wasp Andricus caputcalicis was found on acorns of Durmast oak (Quercus petraea) and English oak (Q. robur), gall-wasp Callirhytis glandium was detected in acorns of Turkish oak (Q. cerris) and Q. libani.
