A study on some productive qualities of local angora rabbits reared at covered premises and under shelter
2008
Grigorov, I., Thracian University, Stara Zagora (Bulgaria)
The determined period of pregnancy for the angora rabbits was not influenced by the systems of their rearing – covered premises or under shelter. The duration of the pregnancy period was from 30 to 33 days. The optimal number of born rabbits which one rabbit-mother could raise irrespective of the mode of rearing was 4-5. The milkiness of the angora rabbits was low. Till 90 days of age the male rabbits had higher live weight irrespecitve of the mode of rearing. A tendency for an increase in the wool production was observed for the angora rabbits reared in covered premises.
