Climate changes have recently been registered and a standpoint strengthtened its position that more accurate estimates for the evapotranspiration can be obtained if one takes into account as many meteorological and plant factors as possible. As far as FAO is concerned, most accurate estimates can be obtained by FAO Penman-Monteith method. At present, an intense work for its calibration for the geographical and climatic peculiarities of different localizations in the world and also for obtaining crop coefficients KС is being carried out. There are some results from research work in Bulgaria, but the irrigation practice has not yet applied this method. There are still problems with the availability of the necessary meteorological information. In this paper, crop coefficients for maize (grain) for II and IV Agro-Climatic group of the regions under reclamation in Bulgaria are suggested, calculated on the basis of long-term field experiments and meteorological data. An equation as a result of approximation of the data obtained is offered to facilitate obtaining such coefficient in the other parts of the country.
