Rootstocks for the seet cherry.II. Hybrids and clones of ornamental types of the genus Prunus

During the last 20 years an exceptionally great versatility in the varieties of rootstocks in the sweet cherry has occurred. Succeeding the previous edition in the scientific journal “Plant Science” where the main rootstocks were presented - wild cherry (P. avium L.), mahaleb (P. mahaleb L.) and ordinary sour cherry (P. cerasus L.) as well as the new seedling and clonal forms originating from them, in the present article information has also been presented about a great number of newly selected rootstocks, created by way of hybridization between different clones of the genus Prunus or by means of selection of ornamental species of the same genus. As a result of their examination worldwide, and for some of them in Bulgaria too, the following rootstocks have been presented: Colt, Cob, OCR-2, OCR-3, M x M 14, M x M 60, M x M 97, KW 228, KW 230, KW 233, PHL-A, PHL-B, PHL-C, GM 79 (Camil), GM 61/1 (Damil), GM 9 (Inmil), Gisela 1, Gisela 3, Gisela 4, Gisela 5, Gisela 6, Gisela 10, Gisela 12, Piku 1, Piku 3, IP-C1, VP -1, Prob, P 3, P 7, Adara, Chishimadai 1 go, Aobazakura etc.
