Resources of Enterprises from the Meat Industry to Abide with the EU Standards for Food Safety

The aim of the paper is to present the results from the analysis of the collected data concerning the human, input and financial resources of enterprises from the meat industry to abide with the EU standards. The following indicators for data resource evaluation are taken into account: - Acquaintance of the entrepreneurs in relation with the EU standards for food safety and working places as well as norms for environment safeguard; - Information access, generated from the main information sources; The human resources of enterprises are elaborated in relation to: - Presence of expertise potential; - Availability of programs for personnel vocational courses; - Motivation of recruited personnel and entrepreneurs; The essential conclusions supposing the material resources of enterprises are based on comparative analysis of the buildings and equipment prior to re-structuring from one hand and availability of risk infrastructure and technologies after adoption of EU standards for food safety from the other hand. The financial resources are evaluated on the basic of the data collected out of 82 enterprises from the sector concerning the financial results in 2006. The conclusions are synthesized about the financial capacities of the enterprises with different size number of employees.
