[Dynamics of yielding capacity and botanic composition of perennial pasture grass stands on peat soils]

The long-term investigation of the influence of the mineral (especially nitrogen) fertilizers on the dynamics of yielding capacity and botanic composition of perennial pasture grass stands was realized on the peat shallow soils of Polesje district of the Republic of Belarus. Research results showed the high resistance and tolerance of the analysed meadow plant stands and possibility of maintenance of their productive longevity without reseeding for at least 20 years. It was revealed that in course of 22 years the highest percent of perennial pasture grasses (93%) were presented by the cultivate plants. The highest adaptive potential was showed by awnless brome (Bromus inermis Leyss), meadow foxtail (Alopecurus pratensis) and Kentucky bluegrass (Роа pratensis). In course of the observed period the number the mentioned above grasses did not change in comparison with the sown grass mixtures. In course of studies there was received new data on the efficiency of mineral fertilizers (including nitrogen), their influence on the productive capacity of grass stands, steadiness of yield formation by years and pasturing cycles. In the conditions of high level of yielding capacity on peat soils (in average – 48 c/ha of dry matter) the application of mineral fertilizers provided the yield increasing in 1,7-2,5 times. Application of nitrogen fertilizers increased the perennial grasses yield on 54,2-77,3%. Expenses per 1 kg of active dry nitrogen material by means of yield increases provided 16,8-23,3 kg of dry matter
