Research of the molecular and genetic heterogeneity of the collection samples of sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) on the basis of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with the random primers for the selection of the polymorphic genotypes for their further hybridization was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. The lines were classified by the level of DNA-polymorphism. Research results showed that among 13 analyzed 10-membered random primers the most effective for the analysys of sweet pepper genomes were RAPD-primers OPW-15 and OPA-04. The revealed polymorphic genotypes were involved in hybridization. Use of the most polymorphic line L108 as a pollinator in combinations with the lines L1378 and L1373 made it possible to produce hybrid progeny with the significantly high true (up to 68%) and hypothetical (up to 92%) heterosis for the main productivity elements (fruit weight, average weight and length of fruit). Heterosis for the general fruit weight for L1373xL1208 and L1378xL1208 hybrids was 30% and 68%, respectively; for average fruit weight – 27% and 25%; for average fruit length – 9% and 14%, respectively. By the signs of fruit width and pericarp thickness there was stated no positive heterosis. According to the pericarp thickness there was stated the negative true heterosis for L1373xL1208 and L1378xL1208 hybrids (-23% and -8%, respectively)
