Evaluación de indicadores bioquímicos en variedades de tomate resistentes y susceptibles al tizón temprano

La expresión de una isoforma de lipoxigenasa (LOX) y las isoenzimas peroxidasas y quitinasas se estudiaron por primera vez en hojas de tomate de diferentes genotipos obtenidos en los programas de mejoramiento y que se utilizan actualmente en la producción de esta hortaliza, sanos e inoculadas con aislamientos de Alternaria solani. La diferenciación de las variedades resultó mejor con el empleo de la enzima LOX en comparación al resto de los indicadores evaluados. Se emplearon tres aislamientos del hongo de diferentes regiones del país y los mejores resultados se obtuvieron con el que resultó más agresivo. Los niveles de actividad específica y la intensidad de las bandas obtenidas con la LOX fueron mayores en las plantas inoculadas de las variedades resistentes en comparación con las susceptibles, lo que se sugiere que esta proteína podría estar relacionada con los mecanismos de defensa en la interacción y constituir un posible indicador de resistencia inducida

The lypoxigenase (LOX) expression, and the peroxidase and chitinase isoenzymes were studied for the first time in tomato leaves of several genotypes obtained in the different tomato plant breeding programs. The genotypes were healthy and they were inoculated with Alternaria solani isolates. Differentiation of varieties was better when the enzyme LOX was used compared with the other markers evaluated. Three fungus isolates from different regions of the country were used and the best results were achieved with the most aggressive isolate. The specific activity levels and the intensity of the bands obtained with LOX were higher in the plants inoculated of the resistant varieties compared with the susceptible ones suggesting that this protein could be related with the defense mechanisms in the interaction and constitutes a possible induced resistance marker.
