The aim of this research was to validate the thermogravimetric method for moisture content in barley, green malt and finished malt. The method is based on the principles of halogen heating and automatic monitoring of the course of the drying curve. The HR 83 moisture analyser of the company Mattler - Toledo was used. Both the thermogravimetric and official methods gave similar results. Therefore, the moisture meter can be fully recommended for the determination of moisture content in barley and malt.
