Twelve parent half diallel set involving six white per and six red grain triticafe lines was studied over three environments for grain yield per plant, tiller number per plant, number of grains per spike and 1000-grain weight. The mean squares due to genotypes and environments were highly significant for all the four characters studied. Significant general combing ability (GCA) and specific combing ability (SCA) variances influenced by the environments suggested that for unbiased estimates of GCA and SCA such studies be made over a range of environments. The non-additive gene effects were more pronounced in almost all the characters studied. On the basis of per se performance and GCA effects UNIT 106, UNIT 128 and Beagle were over all good combiners. The desirable crosses on the basis of per se performance and SCA effects were between white and red grain triticales.
