2004
Singh, Y., CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Palampur (India)
4 spice crops, vix., fennel, ginger, large cardamom and turmeric were used for studies. Ginger variety-Samoh-1 was found highest yielding (210.18 q/ha) with crude fibre content of 8.95 and highly resistant to rhizome rot of ginger. In fennel, genotype JF 416 (among small train genotypes)was highly desirable yielding (7.20 q/ha) and green in colour. Among the bold seeded genotypes, JF 4130 being green in colour have highest yield (10.10 q/ha). In turmeric genotype, DTS 10-A gave excellent performance for yield (316.66/ha). In turmeric genotype, DTS 10-A gave excellent performance for yield (316.66/ha) and curcumin content of (11.02). It is recommended to farmers for commercial production of turnmeric in the state. In large cardamom 13 genotypes were screened for their adaptability and variability studies regarding yield and its contributing traits under Palampur conditions.
