Investigation of promising lines and varieties is necessary to increase seed yield per hectar in plant breeding programs. The objective of this study was selection of desirable bean lines and varieties with high yield and good marketing. This research included two experiments. In red bean experiment 13 treatments (lines and varieties) and in white bean experiment 6 treatments (lines and varieties) were separately planted in RCBD with three replications in Lordegan region in 2005-2006. The traits of seed yield, seed yield components, growth habit, days to flowering and days to maturity were recorded and based on them, the best treatments were selected. The results based on combined analysis of variance indicated that the most desirable genotypes were Naz (red bean) and Daneshkadeh (white bean) with yield 3616 and 4538 kg/ha respectively. Jules had also desirable marketing because of its large seeds. The corralation coefficient of 100 seed weight with two traits (number of pods per plant and number of seeds per pod) was negative and significant.
