The study area in located about 120 km north west of Mashhad the capital city of Razavi Khorasan province, between 58 – 26, 35 and 58-36-55 E. and between latitude 37-6-32 and 37, 7, 58 N. and The mean annual precipitation and temperature are about 319 mm and 12.8 C respectively. The climate is semiarid and soil moisture and temperature regimes are Aridic Borderon xeric and mesic respectively. Three physiographic were distinquished, namely, plateaux and upper tetrraces, piedmont alluvial plain, river alluvial plain. Aridisols are the dominat soils in the area, eight soil families and sixteenth phases were distinquished. The quantitative land evaluation can be done using soil climatic data along with land use reguirements, Land qualities and economic considerations. The potential land use of 11530 ha of Razavi Khorasan province irrigated wheat, barley and alfalfa was investigated. Semi-detailed soil survey study was carried out according to USDA soil Taxonomy System (2003). The target soil and climatic data reguired forthese crops were obtained from says (1991) and Givi (1994). The physical suitability class for the selected crops were determind by simple limitation method, storie index and square root methods. All results were integrated and appropriate maps were prepared. Result of this study revealed that the whole land was not suitable for wheat, barley and alfalfa. Results also indicated that the square root method was abetter indicator for determinig the productivity of land units.
