The objectives of this research were to study genetic variation of some grass accessions such as Agropyron deserterum, Agropyron elongatum, Bromus inermis, Dactylis glomerata, Festuca arundinacea, Festuca rubra, Puccinellia distans and Secale cereale. The experiment was conducted as a randomized complete block design with 3 replications in research farm of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Central region of Iran. In this study 11 traits were evaluated in two years. This traits were included number of days to heading, number of days to pollination, plant height, number of stems, canopy, flag leaf length, flag leaf width, panicle length, fresh and dry forage yield, crown diameter. Statistical indexes such as (mean, maximum, minimum and range) mean squares, means comparison, correlation coefficients, variance components, heritability, variation coefficients were calculated. The results showed that there was significant genetic variation between accessions of each species which has capacity for breeding programs and release the varieties for different conditions.
