In order to efficacy evaluation of Atlantis (Idosulfuron + Mesosulfuron +Mefenpyer) in comparison with some current herbicides in weeds control of wheat fields, a set of field studies were conducted in 2006-2007 growing season at 5 province of Iran, including Tehran (Karaj and Varamin), Ghorgan, Fars, Ahvaz and Kermansh . Treatments were arranged in a RCBD design with four replications. Treatments consisted of Chevaliar (Idosulfosulfuron + Mesosulfuron) at 0.4L/ha, Apyrus (Sulfosulfuron) at 28, 42, 56 and 70 g/ha, Megaton (Chlorsulfuron) at 20 g/ha, Bromicide + Topic ("Bromoxynil + MCPA"+ Clodinafop-propargyl) at 1.5+0.8 L/ha, Total (Sulfosulfuron + Mesosulfuron) at 45 g/ha, Atlantis (Idosulfuron + Mesosulfuron ) at 1.5 L/ha, weed infested and weed free. To evaluate the effects of treatments, different characteristics including percent damage based on EWRC scores at 30 days after spraying, percent weed population reduction, percent weed dry mater reduction (separately for each weeds) and yield were measured. According to the result, there was a not significant difference between Chevaliar, Apyrus, Total, Atlantis and Bromicide + Topic in Khozestan and performance of Chevaliar was as same as, or better than Atlantis. The best herbicide treatments in Fars were Chevaliar, Atlantis and Bromicide + Topic. The efficacy of Atlantis also was better than other herbicides, especially Chevaliar. The best herbicides for control of weeds in wheat fields of Gorgan province also were Total, Atlantis and Bromicide + Topic, respectively, but the efficacy of Bromicide + Topic for control of Melilotus officinalis was not as good as Total and Atlantis. In Kermansh also the best efficacy was related to Total and the efficacy of Atlantis and Chevaliar were not satisfactory. The efficacy of Bromicide + Topic for control of Centaurea depressa and Consolida orientalis in Kermansh also was not acceptable. In Karaj and Varamin, due to no uniformity of weed distribution in experiment, no recommendation was done. Generally, the efficacy of Atlantis was satisfactory in Khozestan, Fars and Gholestan and this herbicide could compete with Total and Bromicide + Topic. The efficacy of Atlantis and Chevaliar in Kermansh were not satisfactory.
