Over than one hundred years ago, the Tea plant was introduced to I.R.IRAN and many things about Tea occurred through out the years to now. Unfortunately, organized research activities on Tea sciences was dated back to 1993 and before that, only several thesis were carried out in the university. Research activities for 20 years could not to releasing any improved clone for planting in Tea state. Therefore, clonal selection project, Tea plant nutrition research, study on root lesion nematode of tea and it&rsquos control ways, study on weed science in Tea nursery and garden, Investigation of genetic diversity between selected clones, effect of irrigation on Tea yield and quality, Tea field mechanization, survey of black and green Tea production methods, optimizing of tea processing, economic and social science study in field of Tea and the other subjects are the new projects that started less than 10 years ago and they are doing now. Thus, research and development (R&D) are the basic requirements for Tea Strategic Program. On the basis of this main goal, identification of the Tea problems was the first step, and then literature review was carried out by search in books, journals, bulletins, reports, internet and etc. Comparison of the Tea problems in Iran with other Tea growing countries problems, study of successful methods and efficient models for solving of problems result in to determination of research goals and their classification. At the end, research programs and projects on Tea science in different fields such as cultivation, processing and industry, packaging and marketing, consumption and etc. identified.
