In order to determine the best planting date and plant density and their interaction effects on two soybean cultivars including Sari and Telar, for spring cropping in Mazandaran province two separate split- plot experiment based on randomized complete block design (RCBD) wen conducted for two years. Main plats were included four planting dates ( A1: 25th April , A2 :5th May , A3: 15th May and A4 : 26th May) and sub plots were included three between row distances ( B1 : 30 , B2 : 40 and B3 : 50 cm) and also plant distance on row was considered 5cm. Analysis of variance related to both years indicated non- significant mean squares for planting dates and plant density respectively and significant in first year. The distance 30cm between rows had 3889. 44 and 3661 kg/ha for Telar and Sari respectively and were classified and a group . For second year 30cm row distances had 4428 and 4328 kg/ha for Telar and Sari respective and also they were classified as A group. Combined analysis based on two years revealed non- significant mean square for planting dates and significant mean squares of year × row distances for two studied cultivars and year × planting date × row distance for Telar cultivar. The 30cm between row distance showed 4159 and 4176 kg/ha for Telar and Sari respectively.
