Rhizoctonia stem and stolon canker, also called black scurf, is an extremely common problem on potato that can result in delayed emergence, reduced stands and poor tuber quality. This disease is caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani which can survive in the soil for many years, even under relatively dry conditions. In a 3 year field and greenhouse experiment, samples of disease plant were collected from different area of East Azarbayjan, Ardebil and Tehran provinces. The causal agent of disease isolated and purified in media and tested for pathogenicity. Most of isolats were pathogenic. In the study of disease management the 10 treatments (5 fungicides,4 antagonists and 1 pre emergenced seed tuber) were investigated to disease control . In this study the fungicides and other treatments can reduc disase. The Iprodione and Tolclofos methyl were the best fungicides in controlling of stem canker and black scurf of tubers. In other study for sellecting best antagonist in controlling disease 10 treatment were investigated . The studies showed that the treatments Trichodermin-B (Trichoderma harzianum) and T3 (the equal mixture of Trichodermin-B and Trichodermin-A) were the best treatments in controlling of disease.
