This study was carried out with inspecting 12168 lung tissue condemned sheep and goats at the Ziaran abattoir ( 60 km. far from the Institute ) .282 cases of pneumonia were considered and the lung tissue was collected in situ . At the Razi Institute by filling the form ,situation and spread of lesions towards the other lobes were noted . Equal dividing of tissue transferred to the Bacteriology and Pathology Departments for isolating of bacteria and interpretation of histopathology lesions . Pasteurella multocida had been isolated from 120 cases..66 of them detected PCR positive .Mycoplasma spp was isolated in 6 ruminants (4 sheep and 2 goats). All of them detected PCR positive.Histopathology sections indicated purulent broncho-pneumonia 28.8%-purulent interstitial broncho-pneumonia 19.2% -purulent bronchitis/bronchiolitis 9.6% -purulent pleuritis/ pleuro-pneumonia 7.2%-purulent fibrinous bronch-pneumonia 4%-purulent pneumonia 8.8%-and progressive pneumonia 4.8%-from Pasteurella cases and purulent interstitial bronchopneumonia 33.33%-purulent bronchitis 33.33%-purulent fibrinous pneumonia 16.6%-progressive pneumonia 16.6% from mycoplasma cases were diagnosed .Statistical data gained out of the Pasteurella cases showed the frequency distribution of outbreak in the various seasons was significantly different in sheep ( P0.001) . .
