Selection and conservation of genetic purity in Siokra-324 variety

In order to conservation and improvement of purity in new cotton cultivar &rdquoSiokra 324&rdquoassessment and Selection of single plant was done at three research station in Golestan province (Hashem Abad, Karkandeh and Gonbad Stations) in the 2001-2006. The assessment and selection carried out on the base of field performance of plants and qualitative traits of single plant fibers (Lint performance). Analysis of some traits in population indicated a significant variation among plants for yield, boll number, boll weight, plant height, earliness and lint propertries. On the base of four years selection, some important traits as boll weight, boll number, plant idiotype , lint length and micronair indices have been improved step by step.
