Sugar beet major fungal diseases in Iran (leaf diseases and root rots)

Powdery Mildew disease is one of the most important problems in sugar beet production of our country. Based on this reason study of effects the disease on decrease of root yield and quality of sugar beet was coducted in three area for two years. The experiments were carried out with five treatments including four chemical control(applicant spray) and check and three varieties in split plot design with four replication. Results of Combine analysis upon two years and three areas showed that four time spraying increase 9.1 percent root yield. Two , three and four time spraying decrease rate of infection about 20 percent. One time spraying with calexin increase about 4.3 percent root yield and dercrease about 8.99 percent rate of infection. Sugar content had no response to chemical control of the disease. In Dezful area (winter crop) the disease had no importance.
