In low-lying rice field area, it is surveyed how the crop-changed paddy plot influences the water balance in the adjacent paddy plot and the variation of water table. The first irrigation water at the beginning of irrigation period tended to sink into under the crop-changed plot due to increasing soil air content, which induces water movement by consecutive crop rotation. As a result at the beginning of irrigation period, the amount of the water requirement at the paddy plot adjacent to the crop changed paddy plot was larger than at the plot sandwiched paddy plots. After the beginning of irrigation period, water requirement rate depended on the treatment results of water loss through the levee between the crop-changed plot and the adjacent paddy plot. However, the amount of the percolation was affected by the soil structure, not significantly by the crop-changed plot if the water loss through the levee could substantially reduce.
