The aim of the project was to evaluate hardwood deciduous tree species - oak and ash tree forest stand economic and ecological significance in Latvian forests as well as to elaborate recommendations for further development of this trees species growing. The oak and the ash tree forest stand taxation indicators - analysis of tree height and increment of breast height diameter by using the forest tree databases about the state forests have been carried out in the project. Based on calculations where used oak growing models elaborated by Sweden scientists, the economic efficiency of the oak forest stand growing have been evaluated in the research. Calculations are acknowledged that oak forest stand growing can be financially attractive. The proposals for improvement of the oak propagation material (container plants) also have been elaborated in the project.
