An experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Institute Tarnab, Peshawar during 2003-04 and 2004-05 to find out the response of row spacing and seed rate on the yield of wheat cultivar Bakhtawar-92. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with split plot arrangement, replicated three times was used. The result indicated that the number of grains/spike was increased with 100Kg seed rate/ ha and 30 cm apart-rows while also the number of productive tillers/m' increase with the seed rate of 100 Kg/ha and 30 cm apart-rows. The number of grains/spike and number of productive tillers/m2 decrease with the increasing of seed rate/ha. Also the highest grain yield of 4280 kg/ha was obtained with 100Kg seed rate/ha and 30cm apart-rows followed by the plot of 125 kg seed rate/ha and 30cm apart-rows giving yield of 4075kg/ha. While the lowest grain yield 3110 kg/ha was recorded in the plot with 15cm apart-rows seeded at 75kg/ha. The conclusion of the experiment is that wider row spacing 30cm with a seed rate of 100 kg/ha could be used with significant increase in the grain yield.
