The experiment was carried out on 25 ewes of Zelaznienska type of Polish Lowland sheep (10 animals in control group, 15 in experimental group). The ewes from the experimental group were fed a diet with linseed oil of 3 percent dry matter ratio during 2 months (from beginning to the end of 8th week of lactation). The fat samples were collected by biopsy method from the tail root part twice from the same animal before and after the experiment. The fatty acids profile was determined by gas chromatography. The ewes from control group showed no significant increase of SFA in adipose tissue after 8th month of lactation. In the experimental group the content of that acids group stayed on the same level. The linseed oil caused an increase of C18:3, EPA and DHA acids (P less or equal 0.01). The oil in diet also increased n-3 acids content, decreased n-6 acisds content and reduced n-6/n-3 ratio. In adipose tissue of ewes from the experimental group the increase of C18:2 cis-9, trans-11 acid was noted as well
