At the present time hybrid tractors are still not in use, although number of reasons for their development exist. This paper analyses prospect of development, feasability and sustainability of hybrid electro-diesel tractors. It is concluded that by present level of technical progress it is realistic to expect only development of hybrid drive of tractor equipment, electrical power boost of diesel engines, as well as combination of mechanical and electrical wheel drive.
